Broke away from the studio for a few mins to grab a green juice before lunch, it was fabulous. (That's a pomelicious smoothie for my boss to the right)
I pretty much packed exactly the same lunch again today as yesterday except I drizzled it with this new dressing I found called Hendrickson's, which touted itself as an old family recipe blah blah blah. Anyway, it looked interesting. At first glance it looked like the perfect natural dressing, no canola oil, no msg, nothing artificial, and only 70 calories per serving, it was mainly made with olive oil and vinegar. So come lunch time, I drizzle about 2 tablespoons over my salad, stir it up and take a bite. HOLY MOLY this stuff is good!! I had chopped up lots of cucumbers in my salad and there was actually some dill mixed in with the baby greens I used, and the acidity of the vinegar in this dressing made it taste almost like really fresh pickles had just happened in my salad!

So I pretty much inhaled the salad and I kept noticing how sweet it tasted. I didn't think there was sugar in this dressing, but I just kept noticing the sweetness, so I had to take a second look at the ingredients. Sure enough, the second or third ingredient was sugar. I then took a peek at the sugar content which was a whopping 17g per serving! Whoa! I'm not saying I'm not going to eat it again, but I am definitely going to use it very sparingly from now on!
I was so excited to hit the gym for the tuesday workout that I missed last week. I did abs, legs and 45 mins. on the treadmill during which I ran for about 10 mins at 6mph. It was super hot in the gym today again or I probably would have run longer.

So yesterday I saw Gena's cream of zucchini soup and rembering that I had two home grown zucchinis I knew I had to try it. So after my workout I came home and proceeded to make it with as many of the ingredients I had on hand. Here is what I used:
1 medium zucchini
1/2 avocado
1 teaspoon braggs (I didn't have white miso, this was my sub, also I didn't add salt
a few kale leaves
because this is salty enough)
1 cup spring water
juice of half a lemon
drizzle of olive oil
I just gave it a whirl in the blender and it came out gorgeous just like the photo on Gena's blog!
So what was the verdict?

I liked it a little ; )

After dinner, I thought I'd try the banana soft serve (my new obsession) again, this time I added cinnamon and some strawberries I'd processed in the food processor. Of course this was super yummy. I did kind of feel like I had an entire dinner of baby food though, but I'm sure my tummy is thanking me for all the super digestible food!
A few days ago, on HEAB's blog, she answered a reader's question: if you had to pick one food to eat the rest of your life, what would it be? Heather answered Tortilla chips, which I must say is a good choice, as I do love me some tortilla chips, too, but I believe I'd have to go with bananas, I eat one every single day, sometimes two, and I have never gotten tired of them, I could definitely live on them. Especially since I've been introduced to banana soft serve, LoL.
What would your one food be?

One response to “one food for the rest of your life?”
