So after many many mornings of green smoothies, also affectionately known as green monsters, I have let myself run out of green stuff mid week this week! Oh no, what's a girl to do? I had lotsa carrots and I also still had some TJs canned pumpkin, man that one can lasted a long time! So I was thinking how about something orange for bfast! So I present to you, the Beta Beast:

It was absolutely AMAZING. Here is what went in:
Half of a large banana
1/4 can TJ's canned pumpkin
about 2 medium sized carrots steamed (had these in the fridge from the night before)
2 very generous shakes of cinnamon (this was essential)
1 cup almond milk (unsweetened vanilla)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
a few ice cubes
So good. It was very thick and creamy I had to eat it with a spoon. It definitely seemed decadent. I enjoyed it with a muffin and some AB.
I will be making another one tomorrow morning I might play with the ingredients a bit. I'll definitely be using a frozen banana next time, as they make everything so much better.

Between bfast and lunch munched on a Bumble Bar I had picked up at WF this weekend. I have always wanted to try these and never have. The verdict? Meh. It was okay, the nutritionals were great, the taste was a little bland. As you can see it was basically just sesame seeds and flax seeds, there were also very occasional cashew chunks in there. It was edible, but probably not something I'd buy again.

Lunch was a highlight. I am so loving packing my lunch. It's forcing me to use what's in the fridge and pantry, in new and different ways. For example, this morning, I had some leftover garbonzo beans and GF fusili pasta from last night's dinner, but not enough for a whole pasta dish, and I really wanted a salad. So I topped my salad greens with the beans and pasta, added some grapes and feta and packed an avocado to slice into the mix when I got to work. I also took some Annie's balsamic dressing. This is not a salad I would typically make, but you know what? It was probably one of m fave salads EVER! And this girl has had some salads in her day! It was so very mediterranean and yummy, it was one of those meals I didn't want to end, and it was just a leftover hodge podge salad. Pretty cool.

I snacked on cantaloupe this afternoon, and then stopped off at Fresh Blends after work and before my workout for a little pre workout green juice, good call, so much better than yesterdays experiment with the juicer, I'll leave it to the experts. When I got home I also had a half a banana and some AB before hitting the gym.
I was so ready to get back to my workout, I was miss cranky pants yesterday because I had to miss it!
Dinner was a quick throw together post workout:

2 large egg whites with a little salt and cayenne, half an avocado mixed with some salsa for a quick chunky style guac and some Garden of Eatin' Sesame Blue chips (these things are addictive) It was a super satisfying post workout dinner.

After dinner, my body was still craving some post workout carbs, so I had a little cup of Whole O's GF cereal with some blueberries and almond milk in my little vintage strawberry cup, I love it!
