Saturday I got up early and got in a great workout: arms/shoulders and then it was shopping/birthday shopping with mom all day which was super fun, but we were worn out by the end of the day.
We stopped at Panera and I had this:

I splurged and got a sweetened green tea because that's the only kind of iced green tea they had aaaaand it was sweetened with some kind of honeydew flavor, I was super thirsty and didn't want water for some reason. It was worth it.
I didn't find the husband's bday gift I was looking for, but I did get this super cute tea cup:

and I completed my set of vintage crock pots, with the addition of the orange one. I don't know why but I just love these things, I think they're so cute.

Sunday I did the usual grocery haul, and though I didn't come in under budget like I was hoping, I only went $1 over!! I'm making progress! And I feel like I got a TON of stuff for the money I spent.

Check out the size of that canteloupe! It was one my unplanned buys but it was only $1.88!!
Once again this week, I planned meals, and I made a list. I have to go to two stores to find everything I need, so I made two lists once again, and at each store, I allowed myself two things that weren't on the list. It's inevitable that there are going to be impulse buys, but setting a limit keeps it in check.
I also got this big bag of fresh kale from my sweet little Nana's garden, check it out:

beautiful.
I made macaroon babies, this time I modified the recipe just slightly, and added 1 tbsp ground flax, a couple of shakes of cinnamon and a dash of vanilla. I have to say they were good before, but this made them better. I tried to cut down on the maple syrup, but they didn't hold together, so I had to add the entire 1/4 cup.

I also made some more maple butter pecans (aka crack), OMG, soooo good. I'll use these babies on salads this week.

Then the husband and I went out with our besties to a restaurant we'd never been to before for his birthday dinner. I didn't get pics b/c the lighting was so dim, but the atmosphere and food were both amazing. We had a great night out. It was a nice ending to the weekend. I can't believe it's monday already!!! But at least there's yoga to look forward to tonight!
