Who Reads Your Blog?

Just a quick post today, then back to logo land a.k.a. work. I am overwhelmed with logo orders right now!! Which is fun, but also exhausting! I got to do a logo for a yoga studio last week though, so that was kind of awesome!

I have to share this mixture I had post workout on monday and tuesday this week. I have been seeing it float around the blogosphere and had to try it. Avocado and tuna! It sounds kinda weird, and looks kinda gross. But it's delicious!! I just mixed half a can of solid white albacore with about 1/3 ripe avocado and mashed it all up together. Monday I mixed in cherry tomatoes and last night I just threw it all atop a bed of baby greens, cherry tomatoes and black olives. I also had some grapes on the side. For the salad combo, I drizzled the whole thing with a little balsamic vinaigrette, no dressing needed! So good!

After that, I had a pear and some green tea. I am really trying to curb my late night snacking, and decaf green tea seems to help. I've been staying up too late trying to get work finished, and inevitably I get hungry. Yuck, I can't wait to get back on a more normal schedule!

Breakfast this morning was super simple and definitely not the hugh jass one I am used to. I am also trying not to gorge myself in the mornings like I have been with my workout schedule and sleep schedule all messed up I am having to really watch what eat. It totally sucks.

But this was actually really good and plenty filling. I also had a green smoothie on the way to work.

I just had a TJ's gluten free waffle with a little smart balance melted on top (if you have not tried these waffles, you've got to, gluten free or not, these are so good, they remind me of Eggos, and they toast up super crispy and yummy!) Then I had half a banana stuffed with ABAB and of course a huge cup of french pressed coffee with almond milk. It did the trick.

This morning while I was packing my lunch it was a super dreary and rainy day outside, so I thought packing this fresh summery lunch was just the thing to perk me up! I packed a simple salad with baby greens, cherry tomatoes from my mom's garden, a few black olives and feta, then I made a little fruit salad with mango and strawberries. I also packed grapes and almonds for snacking. This was incredibly delicious for something so simple!

I worked out chest/back/arms tonight and did cardio, and refuled with some juice I made then a pumpkin/vanilla protein powder/almond milk shake. No pics of these as I pretty much inhaled them and was in a hurry to get a shower!

Okay, so here is my big question for the day! Who reads your blog? Mandy and I were talking about this the other day over coffee, and it's something I've always wondered. Who reads your blog that is outside the "blogosphere" like just everyday people in your life.

It's something I've often wondered, and the answer is probably different for everyone. I didn't realize when I started my blog that I wasn't ready to share it with everyone. Of course I love fellow bloggers/blog readers stopping in, but it's a little weird to think of certain people that I know reading, so therefore, at least for now, I'm kind of guarded about it, which is why I don't always get pics of everything I'd like to. My mom who is pretty much my best friend has read it from the beginning, but it even took me a while to let my husband start reading, now he's a HUGE fan (right, honey?) LOL.

So, I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts on this! Do you just let anyone and everyone in on the bloggie fun, or do you pick and choose who you tell about it?

Well, I am off to go brew a big cup of decaf green tea and get back to work! Not exactly the big carby snack I'd like right now, but whatever! :)

You are not alone! I stay up late almost every night doing homework and packing lunches :)

I'll have to try the tuna/avocado mixture! But I totally forgot to buy some avocados today... Next time!

Not many of my "real life" friends read my blog. And interestingly, those who do, never ever comment on the blog but talk about what I write on the blog like I told them... Sort of strange... One of my friends will say out of the blue: "Oh, so the toddler liked the frozen yogurt?" Without any connection to anything we are talking about. It's taken me a while to realize that she'll just bring up random things she has read on the blog and "throw" it into the conversation...

I know my older sister reads my blog every day. My parents read multiple posts a few times a week. My husband catches up every once in awhile. (but he lives with me, so he basically experiences it first person!) I want everyone to read my blog!I do get shy about telling co-workers about it, though.

My friends read but not my family. But, I much prefer it that way.

My husband reads it but not my family. My clients read it as well.

Great question.

Yay for the avocado and tuna concoction :) Totally delish, and sounds wonderful in your salad!

I honestly don't have anyone reading my blog that I know in real life. My whole family knows about it, but my parents don't read it because they don't have interest in nutrition/cooking. My sister doesn't read it (I think) because she used to have an ED, and tries not to think about food/nutrition too much.

Hahaha you didn't let your husband read it!? Couldn't he secretly check it? I told my family and some friends about my blog right off the bat. I don't tell those that I'm sure would think photographing food is pretty strange.

I actually JUST told my roommates TONIGHT about my blog. It was a bit awkward and made me a bit blushy. Not sure why. I'm proud of my blog but I guess with people that aren't as health-minded, it may come off as weird. They loved it though and asked why I didn't tell them earlier!

Tuna and Avovado? That sounds SO good--I HAVE to try that!

Hmm Everyone who is pretty close to me knows and reads the blog but there ARE a few I choose not to share it with until it just happens to come up.

I tell everyone who's interested on food and healthy lifestyle but I keep it as a secret from my classmates or friends who are too involved in my life right now since I talk about my feelings toward them sometimes too.

Great eats!

I'm not too gaurded about my blog. I don't go out and broadcast it to everyone, but my core group of friends know (most of them anyway) as does my family. It's not like I tell them it's a secret, so they go on to tell others about it. Some people have told me it's a little weird, but I am who I am, and if they don't like it...that's fine!

I tell people I know that I have a blog but haven't given anyone the address. I think I'd feel self conscious if I knew certain people were reading!

I don't have many real life friends that read my blog--I think only two and my family doesn't read it. So, I guess most of my readers are people I don't know.

Your lunch looks yummy. I sometimes get SO tired of packing food for everywhere I go, but I don't have to do it everyday.

Family knows too but not sure if they read.I think now that i've been ''foodie'' blogging for months now. I am more comfortable now. I do love that fruit bowl, looks great.

Most of my friends know about my blog, but I don't really tell them my url, unless they ask. My parents know about it, too, but they have better things to do than snoop on me, lol!

This is a good question! I don't really tell my friends and family about my blog - but my boyfriend has told a lot of my friends for me! It's sweet - he's proud of my new hobby and wants to spread the news, but I get kinda embarrassed :)

I totally would be fine with people I know reading my blog, and some of my friends have stumbled upon it randomly (with a name like Menden, they're pretty sure it's me), but I don't know if a lot of my friends would understand, haha ;)

Only my family and one "real" friend knows about my blog. I haven't posted a thing on facebook and I've kept it a secret from my "in person" friends. Not sure why. I think that it's because they've always thought me obsessive about food and exercise and guess what...I AM!!! Ha ha!

BTW I think Tuna/avo sounds very yummy- perhaps a "massaged tuna"? :-)

Hi there, I am just some random lover of healthy food and fitness who just happened to stumble across your blog from Oh She Glows. I guess it's kind of weird having total strangers read your blog but I think it should be seem as a compliment. I mean if they didn't care or have an interest in what you are saying they wouldn't read it right?

I have often thought about starting a blog similar to yours and others who are like minded but have yet to take the plunge. Do you ever feel obligated somedays to show or explain yourself, I know we shouldn't really care what people think but just curious to see how you feel.

Have a great day and keep up the great work!
